What's up gigging pros. It's Jared Judge. Welcome back to another episode of The Gigging Musician Podcast.

All right, I just listened to a great podcast episode by Alex, who are mosey? He is the founder of gym launch. And now he runs acquisition.com. And he's basically a big marketing slash business guru, that kind of hate the word guru.

Guru implies there's some fakeness to it. And Alex is not fake, he's really done it and is qualified to give the advice he gives. And it made me think about my situation, which is, his, the whole point of his podcast episode was that you are doing too many different things.

And he said, you know, if you're an entrepreneur, like, you know, all you gigging pros are entrepreneurs, you're starting a gigging business where you sell your musical services, in exchange for money.

And as entrepreneurs, there's so many things we could pursue so many paths to follow. And especially as musicians, we got shiny object syndrome, we like to chase whatever the latest and greatest newest thing is.

And then that adds up. That is kind of like, you know, if you've got a closet that only holds 20 shirts, and you just got f 21st shirt, you don't make room for that 21st shirt.

So your closet just gets overfilled, and you start to leave shirts on the floor. And that's kind of how I'm feeling right now is I got so many things on my plate. You know, for full transparency, I am trying to grow Fulltime Music Academy.

That is, you know, the thing that I love doing I love helping musicians, book higher paying corporate gigs, weddings, those kinds of things. But at the same time, I also am trying to grow BookLive.

BookLive is the software tool, that once you got lots of corporate gigs and weddings, you're going to need systems and tools to keep yourself organized.

So that you can constantly fulfill high quality performances at scale, and take a lot of the burden off of you from personally having to do all that admin work.

So I'm trying to grow BookLive to while at the same time, I'm also trying to grow and sustain Dream City Strings up in Milwaukee.

While at the same time, I'm also kind of growing a jazz trio of their Dreams City Jazz, we just booked a gala gig in Milwaukee Art Museum, while at the same time down here in Denver.

I'm trying to build and grow extreme strings, we just played our first two gigs that I personally didn't play for here in Denver, thanks to our excellent violinist, Lonnie, here down there.

And while at the same time, I'm trying to grow extreme strings up in Wisconsin, we've already played like five or 10 gigs up there. And none of them I played at the wall at that same time. Yes, I'm getting more and more dramatic.

I'm also a certified, Click Funnels marketing funnel builder, because I'm good at building these funnels that generate leads and get people to buy what you're selling. So someone texted me.

So I just came back from Funnel Hacking Live, which I mentioned to you guys in the last podcast episode. And I met a ton of really cool people there.

And then, yesterday last night, actually, I got a text from one of those people it was from a foreign number. And it was like, Oh, who's this? And then they reminded me Oh, it's Kristin.

And she asked me, Why are you spending so much time doing those certifications? I know, they take a lot of time when you could be spending that time growing your main business?

If like, I didn't respond right away, because they quickly got me thinking, why am I splitting my time up so much? Alex for most even said it like, you know, the more things you do, the more you divide your attention, the more spread out your efforts are and the less progress you make overall, compared to if you go all in on one thing.

And I honestly feel like it's hard for me to go all in on just one thing, because I love doing all those things.

And I also believe like, you know, if I prove to you guys that the process I'm using to grow extreme strings and all my axe works, then you will believe it enough to join Fulltime Music Academy, which I think it's worth getting, because obviously I'm booking and playing lots of gigs.

But why am I doing all these other things too? And I don't know, it's especially tough, I think as musicians, which is we're good at so many things. Like I'm sure you are a good musician.

I work we might not be the greatest musicians of all time. I certainly am not Yasha Highfield son violin or I'm not Tracy Silverman. He's one of my idols.

And I have the pleasure of working with and that's actually part of what I do with the certified auto building. But, you know, we're not the best we don't need to be the best musicians but we're still good at what we do, and we'll be good at pretty much whatever we do.

And that makes it really tough. Because when we get that feedback from other people, or just our accomplishments, that, hey, you're doing good stuff, it's a nice little dopamine kick to the brain feels really good, very satisfying, very rewarding.

I think I chase that. Often I want that kick. I'm kind of like a drug addict in that regard, which is I just love being good at stuff, it feels really good. And so that's part of why I split my attention.

But according to Alex Mosley, I'm sabotaging myself, I'm sabotaging my future by focusing on too many things in the present. So I guess this kind of this podcast is one of my vows to you to cut down on what I'm doing.

And I'm going to do some journaling on this, I'm not a big journaler. But I guess when it comes to serious stuff, I do without the notepad, and write through my thought process. And I'm going to do that for this.

What are some things I could cut out of my life, so that I could focus and go all in on the few things that mean the most to me? And it's gonna cause me to make some hard decisions.

I'm already feeling like anxiety about this while I'm talking to you. Like, which ones? Am I gonna have to give up? What is that going to do. But I think that's because the future is clear, with all of these things.

Like, even if the future is I don't want to use the word mediocre, but like, let's just say mediocre, even if the future is mediocre, with all of these different things, let's just say average, average is better.

So even, I can see the future with all these things. And if I do all of them, they will be average futures for all of them. Whereas if I do one thing and do one thing really, really, really well, then it's not going to be average, it's going to be incredible.

There's another way of looking at this, which you know, going to a Funnel Hacking Live. They give out these awards at this conference. They are gigantic gold record awards, called the two comma club awards.

And there's two comma club awards they give out for people who have made $1 million through one of the funnels inside of Clickfunnels.

And so that's kind of like, the underlying theme of the conference is how do we get you to the two comma Club Award? And, you know, I'm not I wouldn't be the first musician to do it. You know, Paul, the trombonist has done it.

I think Matt Brockman, one of our previous podcast guests, he either has done it or is well on his way to do it. And one of the speakers His name is Myron golden. Some of you may have heard him. He's a, he uses a lot of biblical concepts.

When he's teaching, like marketing and sales concepts, and his book he did was like, from trash man to trash, from trash man to cash, man, I think he's a hilarious hook. Anyway, he did this short little presentation on the cost of inaction.

And he said, Okay, you all are here to win the Two Comma Club Award, and write that number down $1 million.

And then he said, What's your salary from this past year? And then he had everybody write down your salary from this past year.

And then he said, it's by not taking massive action to end going all in on the one thing that will bring you your two comma Club Award, subtract your salary from that $1 million. And what do you get?

You know, a lot of people were like, 900, something $1,000. And he's like, that's what it's costing you. 900 something $1,000. For you to not take action on this training. You know, you'll you'll have an average life.

But what it's truly costing you, is the gap from the year Two Comma Club Award to where you are right now. And that was so powerful. What am I sacrificing by not going in? All in on one thing?

I keep wanting to say one to two things because like, I don't know, I feel like I feel like I have to do more than one thing. And I really have to figure that out. And maybe you guys can provide some advice on that.

And I have this massive list of things to do based on all the trainings I got in the conference. And it's a little bit of a daunting list. But, you know, daunting lists mean daunting results.

So what I did yesterday is if you follow me on Instagram or Tiktok, Instagram is BookLive app.

Instagram is a full time musician, you will see the result of yesterday's labors coming out pretty soon probably be out by the time you listen to this just because we've got a whole backlog of episodes to publish.

But I recorded 42 reels yesterday 42 reels. So I went all in yesterday on growing Fulltime Music Academy by recording 42 reels.

If you don't know what a real is, it's a short form video content for social media that has an engaging hook, some fun little story or piece of advice in it, and then an offer of what to do next.

And so that I record 42 of them in one day, which the record, Russell Brunson mentioned from stage that the record has been 52 in one day, which was done by Eileen Wilder, another person who trains on sales ahead, I was like, I'm gonna beat Eileen Wilder.

And I came short of my goal by 10. Shorts, but the goal actually was 50 by the end of the week. So 42 on Monday means I'm pretty darn close, because I didn't set high enough goal.

So I'm gonna keep doing this, I'm gonna do that journal, figure out what we're doing with what I'm going to go all in on, and pursue it with a burning passion, and no distractions.

So I'm hoping that you will join me on this journey, I want you to think about what is the one thing you can go all in on, maybe for some of you, it's corporate events.

If I could just break into corporate events, get those consistently, then, you know, things will go fantastically, you know, make enough money for my music to be comfortable. I'll enjoy my retirement if you're a retiree.

And it all comes from going all in on one thing, and not dividing your attention between so many things like we tend to do. Alright, so that is all I got for you today.
